Stress Management

Description:

To avoid the peaks and valleys of productivity created by high stress levels, you need employees who know how to balance the urgent demands of work and personal life. Even when things are going smoothly, the cumulative effects of day-to-day stressors affect the way people behave.

Program Overview:

This learning lab uses the Stress Resiliency ProfileŽ - a unique learning instrument that gives employees new insights into ways they may be unintentionally raising their stress level and affecting their feelings of empowerment. It measures the mental habits that determine their level of "stress resiliency." By understanding the thought patterns that can cause stress, employees can improve their ability to effectively interpret situations and manage stress.

Three thought patterns that create stress are identified and evaluated:
  • The habit of focusing on the negatives (Self-doubt)

  • The perception that tasks offer no room for discretion (Choice)

  • The tendency to underestimate or not recognize one's own competence and abilities; feeling that success depends on outside sources (Control)
The profile measures level of use of each of these habits and shows where stress symptoms are most likely to occur. It also offers guidelines to help design a strategy for increasing stress resiliency.

The Stress Management Learning Lab is a powerful program that will add new insights and give individuals fresh perceptions about their feelings about their job and their performance.
